I dug way way back (one or two pages) and didn't see a thread already so I figured it's time to start one. My most recent trip back home to the States made me realize how out of the loop I am on TV shows...sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing. If you've got anything worth watching, post it up here...

I think I'm pretty late to the party on this one, but Portlandia is classic! I'm only half way through the second season but I thought they would've run out of material to make fun of American hipsters/hippies by now. I was wrong...there's a never-ending supply!

I don't watch TV anymore (hipster?) but I got this laserdisc in a junk store the other day:

it's probably on youtube but it's about late 80s hipsters in Texas

Best show since breaking bad. Awaiting season 2... can't seem to watch anything else really on TV, sans the walking dead for relatively shallow entertainment.

true detective, pretty short series (about 8 episodes) and they do a new set of characters and story each season.

sorry I really didn't know what it was, if you like true detective stuff check out The First 48, used to watch it when I could pick up TV. It's a crime documentary series like Cops (my favorite all time TV show) but with detectives. America is awesome man, basically these dudes came over to some dudes condo and started shooting it up with automatic weapons, so the home owner comes out guns blazing, blows away one of the scumbags, kills him dead. The police come over, yep, you were in your own home, your gun was registered, you have bullet holes in your home, self defence, case closed, no further investigation required. America is awesome. Cool

Not much of a reality tv guy, I think you've been mislead by the true detective title (lol). Think creepy religious murder mystery set in the american swamplands. Very dark and moody. Matthew M. and Woody H. do a really outstanding job, and the writing is spectacular. They set the bar pretty high in the first season.
