Nice finds BM. Thank you.
Cartoon Cortez to be re-released? Strange. I can't see any differences. Maybe the LA stiching on back has been removed? Keep in mind the OG Cartoon release also carried the same "Cortez Basic" on the box label.
And an LA Dunk iD? Compensation for the lack of an iD boutique in LA? |

Whoa... Thanks Mr. BeatMagic. There are somethings being said about a Dunk iD series, including NYC and CHI as well.
Pics, please? |

Some O.G.s were released both, at the UNDFTD X Mr. Cartoon event last November and at certain urban Nike accounts a week or so after the event...those pairs came in the orange box with the "Cortez Basic" on the label AND a script of the words "LA" on the insole.
If you happened to stop by the Nike Blu House Cultura event on the Saturdays (between 12-4) leading up to the UNDFTD X Mr. Cartoon event, they had special flyers directing you to the Nike ID site where you could customize your own Mr. Cartoon Nike Cortez. The only options were if you wanted to put some words on the tongue or the Nike logo and, what color the "LA" lettering was on the side of the shoe (either black or blue). The insoles on these had "NIKE" in blue logo lettering instead of the script "LA" and the shoes came in NIKE ID boxes.
On a fluke, I stopped by on the last day and started snapping pictures. Security stepped and said "NO PICTURES" so I started walking around the exhibit. On my way out, Mr. Cartoon showed up. So in front of security, I asked if I could take some snaps of him and his work, and I got these...
