About time there was this thread!

After missing out on french horror film Martyrs (sounds awesome) at this year's horror film festival, FrightFest in London (completely sold out) I didn't fancy the remake of a KR film Mirrors nor was I that keen on seeing Midnight Meat Train despite it having Vinnie Jones in. Was tempted to see kr film "The Chaser" but didn't in the end.

What I did end up watching was a load of HK films...

Boring film, even Anthony Wong couldn't save this flick.

Was ok, kind of lost the plot towards the end and was willing it to draw to a conclusion. Killer was easily identifiable early on which kind of spoiled it and Michael Wong is just annoying. Best part - Anthony Wong speaking some english dialogue.

Comedy drama with Eric Tsang and Eason Chan. Actually found this quite watchable, had a couple of funny moments, but bit too gay with the morals.

Film based on the real life Hello Kitty murder this Cat. III 'horror' was pretty straightforward. Good 5+ minute soft core sex scene involving a drill and a vacuum-packed smoked sausage. Overall it was a bit on the boring side, although dubbing Michael Wong this time was a good idea.

1993 HK answer to Falling Down, directed by Herman Yau. Cat. III film, but not really that exploitative, this was the best film I watched this weekend. Not as good as the classic Untold Story/Char Sui Bau but was watchable from start to finish, and better than all of the above.[/i]

Its been mentioned before in the music thread for the amazing Cut Killer scene, but if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Easily one of my favorite films of all time.

paranoid park is good enjoyed that, no country for old men was excellent also.re watched clock work orange the other night aswell.

La Haine is very good.

Keeping on a french tip, watched Angel-A the other night.

Enjoyed it for what it was - a reasonably light hearted look at redemption.

Need to rewatch No Country... as I fell asleep and had to watch it in 2 parts.

Charle Wilson's War made me laugh like nothing else.

I just recently watched this film. I can't say much about this film except the shots in the film are amazing, thought provoking, and makes you realize how small you are in such a big and diverse world.

It also changed my perspective on capturing a moment, after I manage to purchase the GRDii I think a HD camcorder is the way to go after seeing this film.

Embarrassingly, been watching re-runs of (as well as the obligatory Dark Knight excursion - loved it!)... The Lost Boys and Basquiat. Is Jeffrey Wright one of the most forgotten actors of our time?!?

Finally finished the 4+ GB torrent of this baby... one of the most slept on films. Kills me everytime... I think I've seen this movie 12 times... and I think I'm gonna end up a mix of Bridges n' Goodman in 20yrs...

Everyone should try n' see PERSEPOLIS if they can...

I brought Blue Velvet and Barton Fink for the journey here...

Oh and not movies but ya'll need to get onto THE WIRE. The best cop show ever made.

Yes, TBL is probably the Coens' best movie, and I think Philip Seymour Hoffman's best role. I'm also in love with the way they light the sets, the use of colors surrounding characters and all the other sorts of gibberish you come up with when you've watched a movie with a spliff or two a few times too often.

Sure, the acting is cheesy as hell, but who cares? Pre-crack America, the bronx in ruins, a nascent hip hop culture just feeling its way into Manhattan, and the music is still up there.

Fargo for me is the Coen brothers best film. No Country was fantastic though, Javier Bardem was a bad ass.

Yeah Fargo's a classic and No Country will be too but personally as a movie I can watch over n' over again.... The Dude wins... and hell I loved Where Art Thou Brother!
